Currently, the vast majority of children use the Internet to communicate with other children, study, entertain themselves, etc. Although this well-applied technology is advantageous, the ignorance of teachers and parents added to the innocence that characterizes children, could transform the experience of using the computer and the Internet into a serious problem.
This is even more serious if it is considered that according to a study conducted by ESET Latin America , more than half of the respondents (68%) know minors who have been victims of grooming, that is, when an adult pretends to be a child to get information and possibly make a meeting. Along these lines, social networks such as Facebook and Twitter (75%) and chats (49%) were the means most used by perpetrators to contact minors.
At Lockbits we offer talks designed for Educational Institutions that want their students to learn to use the Internet in a safer way. This is achieved through knowledge of the various threats that affect such technology. In addition, Lockbits makes other materials and presentations available to teachers and parents to complement children’s learning.
Features:
- The talk explains the different threats that affect minors on the Internet and their prevention (malicious codes, grooming, cyberbullying or cyberbullying, sexting, among others).
- Both the talk and the presentation are designed in an easy-to-understand language focused on children between 9 and 18 years old.
- The talks contemplate the delivery of complementary material for parents, teachers and school authorities.
- The presentation covers the safe use of the Internet on computers, tablets and smartphones.
Goals:
- Raise awareness among children, parents and teachers about the threats that circulate on the Internet and its prevention mode
- Generate safer habits in the use of computers, tablets and smartphones.
